Hiking holidays in Sicily

With its stunning volcanic islands, dramatic coastal landscapes and rugged interior, Sicily offers an incredible variety of hiking trails.

In the west, the ancient and historical Via Magna Francigena trail crosses the island from Palermo to Agrigento, taking you through the authentic villages of Sicily’s rural backcountry.

In the east, you have the opportunity to get up close to some of the world’s most famous active volcanoes as you combine hiking on the awesome Mt. Etna with island-hopping in the beautiful volcanic Aeolian Islands.

Both of our Sicily walking holidays include hand-picked accommodation, luggage transportation, detailed route notes, maps and GPS tracks, enabling you to discover this beautiful and beguiling island in comfort and at your own pace.

The best times to walk in Sicily are spring (April–June) or early autumn (September–October).
